Laura Taylor, LSCSW is the National Director Caregiver Support Program. In this role she provides guidance and sets policy for the Caregiver Support Program nationwide and directs Veterans Health Administration (VHA) staff in the monitoring, assessing and implementing of caregiver support programs throughout the nation’s VA medical centers and community based clinics.

Prior to being appointed National Director, Ms. Taylor was a Clinical Service Line Director of Extended Care Service at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. She also served as the Medical Center’s Social Work Executive. As a service line Director, Ms. Taylor was responsible for over 20 unique programs provided not only at the Medical Center and Clinic Annexes in Wichita, but also in six Community Based Outpatient Clinics throughout the state.

Ms. Taylor completed her Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Social Work at The University of Kansas. She started her career as a Social Work Intern at the VA Eastern Kansas Healthcare System – Topeka, Kansas Division. Ms. Taylor is a seasoned Social Worker, with experience in both mental health and medically focused practice settings. Ms. Taylor has taught undergraduate sociology and psychology courses at several universities.
